Visiting Hours
The Pomona City Jail temporarily houses male and female inmates for the City of Pomona and the County of Los Angeles as well as male detainees for ICE (U.S. Immigration Customs Enforcement). In addition to temporarily housing arrestees and detainees, the Pomona City Jail ("Jail") houses inmate-workers who are serving out their sentences as well as inmates participating in the Jail's "pay to stay" program. As a part of the Jail's inmate-workers' program, inmates serving out their sentences must cook, clean and perform general housekeeping duties during the day. Inmates participating in the Jail's pay-to-stay program serve out their sentences only on the weekends.
Visitors are permitted to visit inmates/detainees at the Pomona City Jail on a "first come, first serve basis." Regular visiting hours for regular inmates/detainees are Monday through Sunday from 10:00 am to 2:45 pm. Visiting hours for inmates participating in the inmate-workers' program begin at 5:00 pm and end at 6:00 pm daily. Inmates participating in the pay-to-stay program are not allowed to have visitors because they are incarcerated only Friday through Sunday each week that they are serving out their sentences.
Since visiting hours at the Pomona City Jail are subject to change without notice, you should always contact the Pomona City Jail prior to your visit to verify visiting hours and to make sure that the inmate you are seeking to visit is eligible for visits. You can reach an officer at the Pomona City Jail ("the Jail") at any time by calling 909-620-2131.
Attorneys and clergymen are permitted to visit at any time provided they call ahead and give notice of their intended visit.
Visiting Limitations
All inmates and detainees are limited to one visitor per day. The length of each visit depends upon the status of the inmate/detainee. Regular inmates/detainees are allowed to have one 15 to 30 minute visit per day. Inmate-workers are allowed to have one hour visit per day. Inmates participating in the pay-to-stay program are not allowed to have visitors. Minors (children under the age of eighteen) may visit inmates but they must be accompanied by an adult.
Visitors' Restrictions
Only visitors with a valid photo ID will be allowed to visit inmates at the Pomona City Jail. Officers at the Jail may deny visitation rights to anyone for any number of reasons.
Telephone Access & Mail
During booking, the person being held in the Pomona City Jail ("the arrestee") may make three free telephone calls. While arrestees/inmates may not receive calls or phoned-in messages, they may make unlimited collect calls once housed. Most arrestees will be housed at the Pomona City Jail for no more than 72 hours, excluding holidays and weekends. Mail may be sent to inmates serving out their sentences at the Pomona City Jail. You should send mail to the Pomona City Jail addressed as follows:

Personal Property
Any time after arrest, an arrestee/inmate may authorize the release of his personal property to anyone unless that property has been entered into evidence. If the property has been entered into evidence, it will not be available until the criminal case is completed. The person picking up the inmate's personal property must present a valid California ID or an ID from an acceptable source.
Once the requested release has been approved, the Pomona City Jail will release all of the inmate's personal property not just individual items. Inmates under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be permitted to authorize the release of their personal property. An inmate's personal property may be picked up at the front desk of the Pomona City Jail from 10:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. daily.
To obtain the release of an arrestee's vehicle, contact the Pomona City Jail or the arresting agency who will provide you with the name of the towing company that you will need to contact to learn if the vehicle has been impounded or not. If you need to obtain a car key that was in an inmate's possession at the time of arrest, contact the Pomona City Jail at 909-620-2131 to obtain a property release form signed by the inmate releasing the key to you.
