Pasadena Jail - Call 626-744-4616

Location

207 N. Garfield Avenue, Pasadena, California 91101. While there are several parking structures near the Pasadena Jail, metered street parking is also available on N. Garfield.

Visiting Hours and Procedures

You may visit a defendant at the Pasadena Jail on any day of the week from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. provided that the person has been incarcerated for at least 24 hours prior to your visit. A defendant is allowed only one 15 minute visit per day. However, that visit can include up to two adults. Persons under the age of 18 will not be allowed to visit defendants. Attorneys, clergymen and bail bondsman may visit at any time for as long as they like. You can obtain information about persons who have been arrested in Pasadena, Sierra Madre, San Marino, South Pasadena, California; or in Altadena, California, by the California Highway Patrol by calling the Pasadena Police Department Jail, any time, at 626-744-4616.

Visitors' Restrictions

All visitors to the Pasadena Jail (the "Jail") must possess either a valid California ID, valid photo ID from another state, passport or an ID from an acceptable source. Visitors with outstanding warrants should not visit the Jail as they may be subject to immediate arrest. Persons on parole are permitted to visit inmates because a glass partition prevents visitors from having direct contact with inmates. A person previously incarcerated at the Jail may visit an inmate provided that the previously incarcerated visitor has no outstanding warrants. Officers at the Pasadena Jail may deny visitation rights to anyone for any number of reasons. All visitors and all personal property brought into the Jail will be searched. Visitors in possession of weapons, illegal drugs or contraband may be arrested.

Defendant's Telephone Access

During booking, the person being held in jail, ("the defendant"), may make three free local telephone calls. Once booked, a defendant may make unlimited collect telephone calls from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Defendants are not permitted to use calling cards and a caller will not be permitted to leave a message for a defendant with a deputy at the Jail. Because most defendants will be held at the Pasadena Jail for no more than 48 hours— unless the arrest occurs on a weekend, defendants should not be sent mail.

Any time after arrest, a defendant may authorize the release of his personal property to anyone unless that property has been entered into evidence. Personal property can only be picked-up during visiting hours. The person picking up the defendant's personal property must present a valid California ID or an ID from an acceptable source.
