Criminality
Criminality is criminal conduct. It is the state of being a criminal. For example, studies indicate that childhood victimization can lead to adult criminality. Like the term insanity, criminality is a legal term. There are no surgical, medical or psychiatric interventions to treat criminality; however, some mental illnesses result in symptoms that are associated with committing crimes. In a sense, therefore, if a defendant's mental illness is treated, his criminality can be treated.
